Marie and Jason {Engagement Session}

October 27th, 2010

How lucky am I that I get to meet amazing people everyday? This statement rings true in regards to the fabulous couple I got to work with this past weekend.

Jason and Marie are two of the nicest, most sweet, couples I have ever met. I loved that I could tell Marie was excited for her photo session and I loved Jason for being a little shy (exactly how my own engagement session went).

They are incredibly perfect for each other and in every photo they truly compliment each other. I’m am SUPER thrilled we didn’t have to cancel – sometimes weather people have NO idea what they’re talking about!

Ann Arbor was gorgeous – so many perfect locations to stop and take a photo. I really truly hope that Marie and Jason (and their family and friends) enjoy their preview!

Perfect.

A favorite.

Love. Love. Love.

Marie and Jason truly rocked it out.

Love Marie’s smile here.

I love this caught moment :)

A perfect location.

They are just fabulous.

We literally had a perfect fall day – the colors were amazing.

Again with the colors.

Another favorite.

This building made me extremely happy.

Pure coolness

It was painful to take all these photos while they were wearing UofM gear – Go State ;)

Had to make a quick stop at Ben and Jerry’s!

Back to this amazing ally.

LOVE.

You two are awesome.

<3

Marie and Jason – THANK YOU! Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to capture your engagement. I had a blast walking the streets and campus of Ann Arbor with you. I can’t wait until your wedding where there will be a little more green blood :) Hope you enjoyed!!

The ‘P’ Family {Family Session}

October 25th, 2010

I woke up Saturday morning worried, the weather outside looked grim. The clouds didn’t scare me, the wind didn’t scare, the temp didn’t scare me – the rain did. It started to rain and I more then anything did NOT want to have to cancel this family session.

Well, we hoped and prayed and for about an hour that morning, the rain held off.

I met the ‘P’ family in a great park in Troy – when the doors of the van opened, two little boys hopped out. Ryan, five years old, and Will, two years old. Ryan was an outgoing helpful little boy and Will was shy but incredibly sweet. Out the other door came Anna – one of the cutest and smiley one year olds I’ve ever seen.

Although the weather wasn’t ideal, we did it and boy oh boy did it go well. The lighting was amazing and the family was incredible!

I clearly had a hard time picking which ones to showcase on my blog, so there’s a lot. Hope you enjoy!!

Meet the ‘P’ Family …

I was clearly having a hard time picking my favorite!

The three ADORABLE kids!

LOVE Will’s smile here!!

Anna – the birthday princess!

Isn’t this family gorgeous?!

Love this photo of mommy and Will

Daddy and his boys :)

Mommy and her sweet little girl

LOVE Ryan’s eyes here!

Had to put this in because I LOVE that no one told Will to hug his sister but he did it anyway <3

These are some great kids!

LOVE this one of the boys!!

Brotherly Love :)

There is just something about this that I absolutely love.

Love.

How pretty is this little girl? So good – smiles all the time!

<3

LOVE profiles – so sweet

Love how cool Ryan looks here :)

I just could NOT not put this photo up – love the facial expression.

Mom and Dad had to get their picture taken too! LOVE this.

One of my favs - incredibly sweet

Ha – he was all smiles once he got his M&M’s!

Now time to bring the focus back on the birthday girl!

Love – LOVE – Love this!

Beautiful.

I had way too many favorites from this session – here is another one.

Thank you ‘P’ family for coming out in the iffy weather and being so fabulous!! Happy Birthday to Anna and I hope to see you guys again soon!!

PS – Hope that sleep over wasn’t too rough on Mom and Dad!!

admin Thank you SO much Jill!! I am so happy that you guys loved the pictures!! We had a great time and the kids were SO fun!
Jill Jackman Hi Lisa from Matt's Mom!! I absolutely love the photos, you really captured their personalities! I may be a bit prejudiced, but they have to be the most handsome family around!! I work at Beaumont with so many Moms, Karen's age...they are all totally enthralled with this session! I appreciate the great job you did for my family and wish you all the best in your photography career. Here's to you! "Grandma Bean".

Wedding Weekends: Escort Cards

October 23rd, 2010

So I wanted to start something fun and exciting for the blog – Wedding Weekends. It’s going to be my chance to bring everyone up to date on the most current happenings of this crazy thing called a wedding.

Today’s wedding weekend is going to be about the escort cards! For some reason this was really hard for me to figure out what I really wanted to do. I knew I wanted something a little different but still classy. Cat came up with a great idea on how to decorate the table – but that’s going to be a completely different post.

I emailed Cat (my Matron of Honor and sister-in-law) a photo of what I really liked and we went from there.

Today we headed to the craft stores – Jo Anns and Micheal’s. There we found some great stuff and came up with an idea that would be just perfect for a little bit of different/classy.

This was a DIY project and Cat made a wonderful mock-up. All you need is some card stock, little sticky things that give the inside card a little height and a stamp(pad).

I personally LOVE the way it came out :) I’m not showing the colors because I need to leave some things a surprise :)

And since a post is ALWAYS better with a photo, here is Julia and my dad on my dad’s birthday – you know it’s a good party when there is chocolate all over your face :)

Kim and Travis {Engagement Session}

October 13th, 2010

This past Sunday I met Kim (another Novi High Grad) and Travis in downtown Northville- one of my absolute favorite places.  We were suppose to go to downtown Plymouth but our plans got rearranged and I’m so glad they did!

Kim and I have been emailing each other back and forth about when to do the photos. We had a date and then her poor dog had to have surgery.  We had another day but then Travis had to go to Georgia. Finally we picked this past Sunday – Travis was going to be in from Georgia and it was going to be perfect.

And perfect it was. This couple is so fun that I seriously can’t wait for their wedding (I was promised that they are going to have one of the most fun wedding parties).

I hope you guys enjoy your preview!

One of those laughing photos that I just LOVE.

LOVing the backgrounds in Northville!

<3

I Love all the colors! The purple and yellows make me smile :)

Kim! You are SO gorgeous! Love this photo of you!

A downtown classic – Genitti’s :)

How can you not love benches and ally ways?!

A favorite – I loved these doors :)

Let’s see the bling bling!

I’m also loving this photo – gorg!

And another favorite – Kim, your eyes are amazing.

Don’t worry – they act like this everyday, right Travis?

The colors make me so happy – Fall should be around all the time.

Michigan and Ohio State … Where’s MSU?!

I had to break these two part … it looked like Travis might have the lead on Kim but…

Kim was able to get him in a choke hold :)

Can’t we all just be friends?

<3

They made up :)

They are both in the police field so we found it appropriate :)

Another favorite.

You two are perfect for each other! Always stay as happy as you guys were the day we took these pictures!

Thank you again to Kim and Travis – even though we had to change locations, change dates and get Travis to the airport on time – we did it. I had a blast and cannot wait for your wedding!

kara lynn is that the bench at the end of the park, facing the stream? the one that's tucked away. if so, next time you're there, look at the placard. :]

Jessica and Matt {Engagement Session}

October 12th, 2010

I had the pleasure of taking pictures for Jessica (Alumni of Novi High- Woo hoo) and Matt for their engagement.

I know I may say this a lot, but my clients are honestly the best people. Both Jessica and Matt came out ready and willing to do whatever was asked of them. If I told them to climb on a tree branch sitting over the water – they were in.  If I asked them to show a little PDA they did it (although Matt was a little more comfortable with that :) ).

They are truly a sweet and loving couple and I just can’t wait to shoot their wedding next year!

Hope you guys enjoy your preview!

I love when clients laugh for real! So cute!

Wow. Aren’t they a gorgeous couple?!

One of my favorites.

We had some gorgeous colors!

LOVE this one – Jessica you are beautiful!

So cute!

I love the happiness that Jessica exuded.

Have to get the beautiful ring in there!

<3

There’s that whole laughing thing again – LOVE it.

How can you see this wall and NOT take a picture with it?

Love.

LOVE this background – Northville has so many perfect spots.

Love this.

Ummm… engagement sessions in the fall? Yes, please.

Beautiful.

Thank you Jessica and Matt for allowing me to spend the morning with you guys around Northville! I can’t wait for your wedding next year!

Barbara Herbst Lisa, these are beautiful. Jessica was glowing.

Ireland {Two Years}

October 11th, 2010

I am so lucky to have met Ireland and her mom and dad this weekend. They are a loving, fun and beautiful family.

They came out to Northville to get some fabulous photos of their stylish two year old – Ireland (cool name, I know).

We walked, we played – we had a great time.

Ireland is the definition of a two year old.  Fun – Cute – Wild – Energetic.  She is all these things and more.

I can’t wait for her mommy and daddy to see all her photos!

Here’s a sneak peek …

How insanely cute is this little girl?!

She’s SO big! Love when little ones do this :)

Some of mommy’s GORGEOUS flowers from her garden.

<3

Loving the way she is holding the flowers here.

Isn’t this dress the cutest? I wish it came in my size!

A favorite.

What a happy kid!

Another super cute outfit!

<3 this.

She even posed for me!

She LOVED going down the slide!

Happiness

Another favorite.

She was just the cutest!

She didn’t care that she was two – she wanted to play on the big playground!

Love these next two …

How adorable (and good) are Ireland’s two doggies?!

I’ll end with a picture of pure Joy.

Thank you to Ireland and her mommy and daddy! I truly enjoyed spending the time with the three of you and can’t wait to see you guys again soon! Hope you enjoyed your preview!

Landon + Sophia + Mom and Dad {Family Session}

October 8th, 2010

The other day I was able to go to one of my favorite places to shoot a family session – Kensington Park.

This place is gorgeous and if you’ve never been, go.

There, I got to meet Landon and Sophia – along with their parents.

These were two amazingly gorgeous tikes.  One a rambunctious, social, blue eyed four year old boy – one a smiley, content, blue eyed baby girl. Together, they made a beautiful team.

We just hung out walking around Kensington, watching the cool birds and playing on the playground. All in all it was a pretty good day – along with some perfect weather.

Meet the ‘K’ Family.

Just daddy and Landon.

The beautiful ladies.

Sophia being a little daddy’s girl <3

<3 this one of Landon and his mommy!

I swear, Kensington Park has the most beautiful backdrops.

How cute is this little boy?!

This little man needs to be in GQ!

Look at those baby blues - gorgeous!

I just love how inquisitive they are at this age.

Landon showing his sister some leaves – how cute?!

A favorite.

Sweetness overload!

That last one might have been sweetness overloud but this one has the cuteness overload.

<3

Just one of those photos that puts a big smile on my face.

I just adore this face she is making!

Ok, Sophia, you are just too cute.

<3<3<3 this family photo

I was totally digging this background!

What is better then a walk in Kensington with the ones you love?

Look at those teeth!!

Oh Sophia – You are going to break a lot of hearts.

Perfect.

Time for some mommy and daddy time!

Love this.

This might have been when Landon snuck behind them! Love their smiles there!

Thank you “K” family!! I had a blast meeting you and walking with you guys through Kensington. You really have some of the most adorable kids I have ever seen!

Cash + Two {Family Session}

October 6th, 2010

The other day I had the privilege to meet Cashton and his mommy and daddy at the Erwin Cider Mill.

Now, Cashton’s mommy and I have been trying to make these pictures happen for a couple of weeks now – unfortunately, Michigan weather sometimes has other ideas in mind. BUT, finally we had a amazing day!

Cashton was incredibly cute, beyond sweet and didn’t cry once. He was, in all definitions of the word, perfect.

His mommy and daddy had him in an adorable outfit but then they pulled out the big guns – they put on his Halloween costume!! I LOVED this idea!! It was super cute and added something completely different!

Enjoy the preview!!

The super sweet family!<3

Cashton is so loved.

I just LOVE this picture – his face is ADORABLE!

Loving those eyelashes.

I swear, when babies smile – my heart melts.

Those eyes are so killer!

Just mommy and Cashton.

Now it’s time for daddy and Cash!

So cute!

I am beginning to understand why grandma and aunts always wanted to pinch cheeks!

Love this family photo.

How much of a little man does he look like here?!

One of my favorite family photos!

Ok, seriously – what the cuteness?! Right?

One of my FAVORITES!

The cutest little skunk I’ve ever seen!

This face makes me smile.

“Come on, you done yet?”

Had to put him on the scale – it was like it was put there for us.

Happy*Loving*Family

Thank you SO much to Cashton and his mommy and daddy! It look us a while to finally get together but it was well worth it! Hope you enjoyed your preview!
