Alicia and Fish {I Do}

December 28th, 2010

On the day after Christmas most people are relaxing and unwinding from a crazy couple of days. Not Alicia and Fish, they got married.

I went to high school with Alicia and was very excited when she contacted me to photograph her wedding. We use to have so much fun together (the most fun being the Britney Spears concerts).  A couple of years ago she moved to China to live her life and teach. There, she met Fish – her husband.

They got married in the cutest little white hall smack dab in the middle of the Novi Public Library and Novi High School.  The building only held about 60 some people but it was perfect. The ceremony was intimate- her friend officiated the ceremony and then their friends from far sang them a song that was made for them. It was perfect.

After the ceremony we headed off to St. Johns in Plymouth. I’ve been there many times before, but being there the day after Christmas was peaceful. We had the whole place to ourselves. It was a wonderful reception with the people that mattered most to them (in the states – Fish’s family lives in China).

I had a wonderful time catching up with an old classmate and friend – I hope they enjoy their preview!

I don’t usually have a chance to grab some photos of the groom before the wedding – I’m glad I had the chance!

Love this one of Alicia.

Alicia, honestly, what the gorgeous?!

How amazing is her dress?! She got it custom made – seriously, it was made for her.

The sweet little white town hall building.

Meeting down the aisle.

You may now kiss the bride.

Hugging her father.

Fish and his new father-in-law.

The family.

So fun!

I fell in LOVE with her flowers – the grass was amazing.

The best man and maid of honor.

Loving the dress, red tie and flowers. Amazing.

One of my favorites – gorgeous.

Seriously – they were smiling like this ALL day!

They totally handled the cold like pros.

Not only did they handle it, they owned it!

Alicia and one of her best friends (who flew in from London).

The whole darn group!

The Hirshfield family

Alicia and her Daddy!

Had to have one with her mama!

haha – love this girl!

They now have the rings that bind them <3

Fish and his boys.

The cutting of the cake (Alicia cracked me up here)

The beautifully emotional speech that Alicia’s sister gave.

Toasting to their marriage :)

This little one thought it was time to dance!

Love this one of Alicia and her grandpa – way too cute.

<3 LOVE <3

Their first dance was one for the books!

Part of the first dance! I love it! That’s passion right there!

The daddy/daughter dance.

This is how they were all night – in love.

Thank you to Alicia, Fish and the whole Hirshfield family. I truly enjoyed every minute that I got to spend with all of you. You are all truly wonderful people! Alicia and Fish – enjoy the rest of your time in Michigan and then in Chicago! Safe travels!

Forever Young Enterprise {Business Session}

December 21st, 2010

This past weekend, right after the shoot I did before this, I did a business session. I jumped at the chance to do this because not many of these come along. I do a lot of families and weddings (which I LOVE and am passionate about) but it’s nice to try new things and broaden my portfolio.

Greg, the vision behind Forever Young Enterprise, is SO out-going and incredibly personable. You can tell that when he has his mind set to something, he’s going to do it. He is making his dream a reality with setting up Forever Young Enterprise.

In his own words, “Forever Young Enterprise is an organization that provides scientifically proven information on diet and exercise that will empower and enable our clients to efficiently burn unwanted fat and build lean muscle mass.  With our program you will learn the most effective way to develop the body you want without calorie counting or spending countless hours exercising each week.  You can gain the results you want with as little as 30 minutes of exercise per week.”

30 minutes of exercise per week? Yes please! Sign me up!

And although age is only a number, Greg is 62 (I just had to point that out before you all saw the photos).

Meet Greg

Among some of his equipment.

The next couple are of Greg and the punching bag (love these).

Love this action shot.

Seriously, watching him was making me tired!

A favorite from the day.

I don’t think 20 year old’s have these kind of muscles!

His program is definitely not just for older men, it’s for all genders/shapes/sizes.

Training

Leg Press

Working on Abs

Had to get some shots of Grandpa and his Bella!

Bella getting in on the workout :)

Thanks to Nicole for recommending me to Greg (her father) and thanks to Greg for giving me this opportunity! I hope to see you all in the future! I might even give you an email about training me for my wedding!

Isabella and Family {Family Session}

December 19th, 2010

I usually am not able to get blogs up the same day that I take the photos, but I know this mommy was very eager to see them (and I had some time)!

This family was referred to me by my sister-in-law, Cat – they only live a couple of doors down! Not only do they only live a couple of doors down,  they also have a sweet baby girl that’s the same age as Gabby!

The sweet baby girl is Isabella – the most smiley little girl I have ever met! She was posing for the camera almost the whole time. This family was so warm and welcoming – I truly enjoyed my time with them today.

I hope they enjoy their preview!

Meet the a-dor-able Bella.

How incredibly sweet is that face?

Honestly, this is how she was the whole time – smiling.

How amazing is that bow Bella is wearing? LOVE it.

What a beautiful little girl.

She wants that present!!

LOVE it <3

She looks like a doll!

Bells and her beautiful mama :)

I LOVE this one!!

<3

Love the toothy smile!

I think this is just too sweet!

I just love how Bella is looking at her auntie.

Just a perfect looking family :)

Love these next two of Bella’s mommy and daddy.

So fun :)

Getting into her Juicy outfit!

You really can’t get much happier.

Aunt, Grandma, Mommy and Bella

Gotta get some love from her daddy!

Love.

<3

I had a blast with this family! They were so much fun and there was so much love surrounding baby Bella. Thank you to Bella’s mommy and daddy for choosing me to come into their house and document their baby girl – it was an honor.

Baby Jacob {Newborn Session}

December 12th, 2010

I knew that this session was going to happen for some time – I just didn’t know when. A gift certificate was purchased months ago for a baby shower. This made me SUPER excited – I knew it meant a newborn shoot was on its way.

I cannot tell you how sweet and cuddly baby Jacob was – he just turned four weeks old and he was as precious as can be. Jacob’s mommy, daddy, grandma and doggie were on hand as well. This little boy is surrounded by love.

I had a blast taking Jacobs first photos at his house and meeting some fabulous new people.

I hope you enjoy the preview!!

I came into their house and this is what greeted me :)

He was very curious about my camera <3

LOVED how alert he was the whole time!

Love – LOVE – Love this one

<3 – way too cute.

I really don’t think you can get much cuter, Jacob.

Go ahead and ‘aw’ – it’s just one of those moments.

I was totally in love with him wearing the Santa hat!

I loved how he just starred at his mama.

LOVE it!!! What a strong boy!

Resting from keeping his head up!

What a beautiful family :)

<3

LOVE how their dog Roxy got involved!

Looks like daddy is getting a little smirk :)

Jacob and his beautiful mommy.

<3  lots of love in this picture <3

Poor little guy – he needed a break.

An ABSOLUTE favorite!!

He woke up to more pictures :) Good thing he liked my flash!

SO sweet – getting sleepy.

All done and in mommy’s arms.

Thank you to Laura, Keith and Jacob for allowing me into your home.  I had a great time meeting you and your little one. I hope you enjoyed the preview and I hope to see you all again soon!

Kate and her Mommy and Daddy {Family.Six Month Session}

December 6th, 2010

Just a few days ago I had the pleasure of meeting Miss. Kate – the most adorable six month old! She was dressed to impressed in the most adorable red Christmas dress. Her mommy and daddy grew up where I did and her mommy’s brother played on the same soccer team as my brother.

It was honestly a pleasure to see what beautiful parents these two were and to have met their most perfect little girl and the most adorable dog! I love that the Christmas time of year has come along – they make for some seriously adorable outfits! Kate was dressed to perfection!

Meet lil Miss. Kate.

She was loving the bow on the present!

Staring at the Christmas tree and wondering why she’s not over there!

Sarah Dodds Lisa, what a great photo shoot! I love how you can just SEE the love that flows in that family. You captured their essence--you're a really gifted photographer! Angie and Kevin-your baby is the most beautiful little girl! Abby continues to ask why we can't bring her home. :-)
Barbara Herbst Lisa, you caught her perfectly. The pictures (and of course the people in them) are perfect. Nice job.

Christmas Time {J-Bird and G-Monkey}

December 5th, 2010

These girls have been sorely missed from the blog – I know. I am giving the public what it wants – more Jewels and Gabby. Wait – that just might be me – oh well.

Here is some holiday cheer in the form of a three year old and a nine month old.

My mom looked over my shoulder and said “Your not putting that on your blog, are you?” Well mom, yes, yes I am.

<3 this girl

What the gorgeous hair?

Aren’t they incredibly cute?

Gabs is nine months!

Ha! Love that she got her fangs in before her two front teeth!

<3 this one!!

Gabby, I just want to eat you up!

Outfit change for Jewels!

That smile kills.

Beautiful sisters.

Love you girls!

Love those eyes!

Hope that put a little Christmas cheer in everyone! I know it did to me!

Boy or Girl? {Baby Shower}

December 4th, 2010

Baby showers are honestly just the greatest. It’s friends, food and baby gifts.

Last weekend my sister-in-law was hosting a baby shower for her best friend, Val and she asked me along to take some photos. I’m glad she did, because I got to see the awesome job she did. She is beyond creative. I overheard everyone saying what a good job she did – and it was all true.

Val and Ryan are deciding not to find out whether their bundle of joy is a boy or girl so the baby shower was in colors that could pertain to both.

It was a great day and I hope that everyone enjoys the preview!

The thank you gifts Cat made.

The AH-MAZ-ING desserts she made.

Loved this idea – She saved all the different baby food jars of Gabby’s and used them for the candles. Love the look.

The lady of the hour – Val!

The spread.

Love these next two.

The happy parents to be!

Val with the hostess with the mostess!

Baby shower games!!

There’s one of my brides-to-be for next year chowing down on some baby food!

Erin taking the bottle like a champ!

Val couldn’t have all the fun – Ryan had to try the baby food too!

Present time!

LOVE it.

The whole group!

Cat – thanks for having me document this beautiful day! Val and Ryan – I hope you enjoyed these photos and I cannot WAIT to see the baby! This baby is going to be surrounded by love – that’s for sure!
