Kittens At Six Weeks

May 20th, 2010

A couple of months ago my friends Cindy and Adam decided to be foster parents to a pregnant cat. About a week after they got her, she had herself six beautiful kittens. Unfortunately one did not make it, but the other five are extremely healthy and happy (although one of them IS flat).

This past weekend I went out to Holly to go see their new places and their new kittens.  They aren’t keeping them all, that would be weird and they would be called the weird cat couple, but they are keeping one around – Stella.

I hope you guys enjoy these photos of your precious kittens and the time that you were able to spend with them!

I hope they all get homes like the one that they spent at theirs.

The FLAT Cat, otherwise called Blue.

HA. This one cracks me up! Can you spot his eye?

The one who birthed them all. She’s a bit annoying when it comes to sipping on my champagne.

You’re my girl Blue.

This one was my little model. Always looking at the camera.

Friends forever.

There is just something about this image that I love.

Not the best of photos but I had to show the Kitten pile!

What the cuteness! After looking at all the photos I want one! Too bad Adam’s allergic!

The Manistee Trip – Part Three (Last Part)

May 19th, 2010

So, at long last, our trip had to be over at some time. We were sad to go. The cabin had so much more meaning to us now. We arrived there as a boy and a girl who had been dating for five years and left engaged. It’s hard to say that this wasn’t the best weekend of my life. I had Adam all to myself.

The months to come are going to be stressful, fun, exciting and memorable. I can’t wait to experience it all.

I will now leave you with the photos taken the last day of our trip – the first day of our engagement.

Adam took this lovely photo of a butterfly that stopped to say hello.

Although it was pretty cold right next to lake Michigan, we had to take a stroll.

I LOVED that imprints that the waves made in the sand. SO pretty.

There is SO much beauty in Michigan. I love this place.

I just had to get a picture of the exposed roots from these trees. I think they look super cool.

I thought this log look prehistoric so I just had to snap one (or fifty) photos of it.

Super cool bird. He/She was diving in and out of the water the whole time we were there.

Just another little piece of beauty that Michigan offered that day.

Literally the only photo of the two of us from this trip. Guess I’ll have to wait until we can get some engagement photos done.

Adam and his Northern Pike! I thought this thing was HUGE! He looked mean too.

I am seriously going through Manistee/Adam withdraws. I can’t wait to go back up in the years to come with my soon to be hubby!!

Kevin + Leah {Engaged}

May 4th, 2010

About a month ago I took engagement pictures for my pseudo cousin and his fiancée.

We headed to Canterbury Village, a place I’ve never been. We had the whole place to ourselves! It was fabulous! It was my first time meeting Leah and I couldn’t be more happy that Kevin found such a great girl. She beyond cute, sweet and very friendly.

I had a great time and want to thank them for giving me the opportunity to take not only their engagement photos but also their wedding!

I can’t wait until September!!!

There were SO many good photos to choose from but here is just a tiny sample!

My favorite. In LOVE with this image.

Another favorite.

They were having a great time throughout the session!

Quick outfit change and on to some more photos!

My job is pretty easy when I get good looking people like this.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this one too! You rock Leah!

Thank you Kevin and Leah!! I had a blast and cannot wait until September!

Cami – Six Month Photos

May 3rd, 2010

What I learned about Cami:

1. When she gets mad, she spits.

2. She is now able to hold her own bottle.

3. She can sit up all on her own (with assistance from time to time).

4. She is still one of the sweetest babies I have ever met.

As you saw in a few post below this, Cami is my boyfriends niece (and mine). I took her three month photos three month ago and this weekend I took her six month.

It was so fun to spend the afternoon taking her photos and catching up with her parents. I can’t wait to take her nine month, twelve month … I think you get the picture.

I don’t usually put this many photos in one post, but it was way too hard for me to pick. I hope you enjoy!

This is one classy baby.

One sweet little angel.

I just love the little smirks she was giving me all day!

Those cheeks are so cute I could honestly eat them.

Those eyes are so bright.

LOVE the gummy smile!

I just love the many faces that babies give you. You never know what you’re going to get.

This picture may be a little blurry and may not be perfect, but it is one of my favorites.

She’s just chillin.

Loving the innocent look here.

See, I told you I learned that she could hold her own bottle now.

ummmm… what the cuteness?!  I wish I had a bow like this.

Oh, I also learned that you do NOT want to get in the way of Cams and her reading show.

Getting a little help from mom and dad.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this family photo! What a gorgeous family! Look at their eyes!

Love this mama and baby moment. Cami looks so content in her mama’s arms.

And you can definitely tell that she is also a daddy’s girl!

Thank you Jen and Derek for letting me come over and spend the day with you guys! I had a blast!

Adam These are AWESOME!

Cami’s Three Month Photos

April 30th, 2010

A face that is sorely missing from my blog is little baby Cami. Cami (Cameron) is my boyfriends niece and three months ago I took her three month photos. This coming Sunday I will be taking her SIX month photos. I can’t believe how fast time has gone!

I had these up on my old blog but thought it was appropriate to add it to the new one as well.

Cami is BEYOND sweet, cute and angelic. She truly is a good baby in all sense of the word good. She has amazing parents and a multitude of people who love her.  She is definitely one lucky girl!

I am super excited to be taking her photos again this Sunday. I know I have grown (in my photography) in the three months since these and that the photos will be that much better.

A sleeping angel.

One of my favorites for sure. She looks so content.

Another favorite.

I love the wide eyed expression here.

She’s not a happy baby or anything.

I just love this shot. Baby feet and rings are just precious.

Adam What a great photo! Of course the best photo from this day HAD to be without me in it and with a pre-choclate Jules...

Happiness is …

April 27th, 2010

This dog. Outside. In the sun. With me.

Pure Happiness.

Letting the wind run through his wavy hair.

Did I ever tell you that one joke? On man, I laugh just thinking about it!

This is his domain.

A definite favorite. My little model.

Peeking through the chairs on the deck – trying to get away from my camera, but not too far from me:).

The little lone flower I found. Poor guy, doesn’t stand much of a chance with the frost coming in tonight!

A Different Way to Capture Love

April 26th, 2010

I don’t know what it is, but I love a good leg/shoe shot. I took these two photos awhile ago but thought I would post them now. I love everything about them. Call me weird, but I do.

I think both these photos embrace love just as much, if not more, then showing the faces. Again, call me weird – call me unusual. That’s OK with me. I like it.

Here are a few more that, to me, show just as much love as if I were showing their faces.

What do you think? What are some other ways to depict love?

Rachell Wallwork Thank you for the sensible critique. Me & my neighbour were preparing to do some research about that. We got a good book on that matter from our local library and most books where not as influensive as your information. I am very glad to see such information which I was searching for a long time. This made very glad!

My Wish for You

April 25th, 2010

I want you to always laugh – cry but laugh more. Be healthy and strong. Be who you want to be and do what you want to do. Find the beauty in everything around you. Be kind to everyone even when everyone else is not. Love. Love everything and everybody. Love with your whole being and you’ll be happy. As long as you love, everything else will follow.

This weekend Adam and I were able to spend some quality time with my niece Julia. We were also able to see Gabby but Julia was our main focus for the day. Julia is being the best big sister to Gabby but for any two year old, it’s hard to see the baby getting attention when it use to be all about her. Therefore, Adam and I thought it would be a good idea to take her out on a special date.

ICE CREAM!!! (Yes, I was excited about this too)

She loved it. When we went to pick her up she was extremely excited. When we got to the ice cream place she was having a hard time deciding what to get and going back and forth between everything. She ended up with vanilla ice cream with cake, fudge, m&ms’s and gummy worms on top.  First bite? Mmmmmmmmm. That’s what Guernsey’s ice cream will do to you.

Julia amazes me with everything she does and says. She is learning her mannors and thanked Adam and myself for the ice cream. She then said that she would really love to play with us at my house. How can we turn down such an offer? Well, we couldn’t. We got her all cleaned up and back in the car. On to the play room.

Of course I used this opportunity to take out my camera and snap a few pics of the cutest “almost” three year old out there. I also took the opportunity to use my video feature on my Nikon and I must say, it’s pretty cool.

Adam giving her more candy – like she needed anything else after that ice cream.

She was worried I was going to tell Adam to stop giving her candy.

LOVE those eyes. They get me every time.

Nope, she didn’t have any chocolate at all.

She loves her books, esp. the bug book!

Love this. A favorite for sure.

My First Session – 35 Years of Bliss

April 22nd, 2010

I started getting really into photography at the start of 2009. I had worked at a studio a few years back but knew I wanted to be my own creative genius. I also knew that I didn’t want to be just a  studio photographer – I wanted to also be an on location photographer.

That’s when I decided to buy my first DSLR. It was my baby. I loved it.  I loved the images I got out of that camera.

I was shooting everything that I could, until I got a bright idea. My parents 35th anniversary was coming up and I wanted to give them a session to remember that special day.

We headed to Mill Race in Northville but sadly to say it was closed due to a wedding. This was my first lesson – always call before going ANYWHERE.

Luckily there are many beautiful places around Northville and we were able to get some great shots.

Now, there is a big frame in their living room displaying their favorite images and whenever I walk past it I am reminded of my very first session with the people who mean the most to me.

Here are some of the images captured that day. I do and edit things a bit differently now. I feel like I am growing with every session and it’s wonderful to be able to track that.
