Kim and Travis {I Do}

June 7th, 2011

There are just some moments that I feel so lucky to be a part of – Kim and Travis’s wedding day was one of those moments.

From the minute I stepped into Kim’s house till the last dance at the reception, I felt the joy/love/happiness. Kim is the type of person that absolutely everyone wants to be around. Her warm smile and caring demeanor that she has towards everyone makes you want to be her best friend. Travis is the also the type of person everyone wants to be around – his humor and ability to make any situation fun makes everyone want to be his best friend.

The whole day was just remarkable and made me really realize that through anything, if you have family, you’ll get through anything.  It made me love my job even more than I already did.

I hope you enjoy the preview!

Ok – I was looking HIGH and LOW for purple shoes and never found them. To say I was jealous of Kim’s shoes is a complete understatement.

This was Kim the whole day – smiley!

The ADORABLE flower girl!

LOVE this shot of Kim’s sister and mom putting on the dress.

The GORG bride!

Seriously in love with her flowers.

The beautiful bridesmaids

A favorite!!

How bad ass is this family?  Love it!

Can’t forget about the handsome groom!

Travis – you are a pro at this!

Beautiful couple.

<3

I LOVE first dances (their song was FABULOUS – wish I could remember what it was)!

Love this. Listening to the best man speech.

LOVE this of the bride’s mom and brother!

The mini bride looking adoringly at the bride.

This was one proud dad :)

Travis and his beautiful mother.

And the craziness begins!

Travis and his groomsmen rocked it out!

Congrats to the beautiful couple!

Kim and Travis – Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your special day. I honestly had a BLAST. All your family and friends made me feel so welcome – you guys have a GREAT support system! I wish you both the best of luck in Virgina!

Katie and Kevin {I Do}

May 31st, 2011

This past Memorial Day weekend I had the opportunity to photograph an old friend from high schools wedding. Katie and I use to be super close in high school but went separate ways when we each went to different colleges.

When I found out she was engaged last year I was secretly hoping that she would ask me to be her photographer because I knew I wanted to see her be a bride. Katie has such a beauty that everyone has to stop and notice. The best part about Katie is that not only she is beautiful on the outside, she has the sweetest personality you will ever come across.

Kevin is her exact match. He is handsome, sweet and you can see how much he truly loves Katie.

They honestly go together like Barbie and Ken and I truly wish them the best of luck together in their marriage.

I hope they enjoy their preview!!

Katie’s mom and mother-in-law getting her in the dress.

Kevin’s niece was one cute flower girl!

Every detail on Katie was just perfect.

Katie, you are FABULOUS!

And Kevin? You look pretty awesome yourself!

Alicia and Fish {I Do}

December 28th, 2010

On the day after Christmas most people are relaxing and unwinding from a crazy couple of days. Not Alicia and Fish, they got married.

I went to high school with Alicia and was very excited when she contacted me to photograph her wedding. We use to have so much fun together (the most fun being the Britney Spears concerts).  A couple of years ago she moved to China to live her life and teach. There, she met Fish – her husband.

They got married in the cutest little white hall smack dab in the middle of the Novi Public Library and Novi High School.  The building only held about 60 some people but it was perfect. The ceremony was intimate- her friend officiated the ceremony and then their friends from far sang them a song that was made for them. It was perfect.

After the ceremony we headed off to St. Johns in Plymouth. I’ve been there many times before, but being there the day after Christmas was peaceful. We had the whole place to ourselves. It was a wonderful reception with the people that mattered most to them (in the states – Fish’s family lives in China).

I had a wonderful time catching up with an old classmate and friend – I hope they enjoy their preview!

I don’t usually have a chance to grab some photos of the groom before the wedding – I’m glad I had the chance!

Love this one of Alicia.

Alicia, honestly, what the gorgeous?!

How amazing is her dress?! She got it custom made – seriously, it was made for her.

The sweet little white town hall building.

Meeting down the aisle.

You may now kiss the bride.

Hugging her father.

Fish and his new father-in-law.

The family.

So fun!

I fell in LOVE with her flowers – the grass was amazing.

The best man and maid of honor.

Loving the dress, red tie and flowers. Amazing.

One of my favorites – gorgeous.

Seriously – they were smiling like this ALL day!

They totally handled the cold like pros.

Not only did they handle it, they owned it!

Alicia and one of her best friends (who flew in from London).

The whole darn group!

The Hirshfield family

Alicia and her Daddy!

Had to have one with her mama!

haha – love this girl!

They now have the rings that bind them <3

Fish and his boys.

<3

The cutting of the cake (Alicia cracked me up here)

The beautifully emotional speech that Alicia’s sister gave.

Toasting to their marriage :)

This little one thought it was time to dance!

Love this one of Alicia and her grandpa – way too cute.

<3 LOVE <3

Their first dance was one for the books!

Part of the first dance! I love it! That’s passion right there!

The daddy/daughter dance.

This is how they were all night – in love.

Thank you to Alicia, Fish and the whole Hirshfield family. I truly enjoyed every minute that I got to spend with all of you. You are all truly wonderful people! Alicia and Fish – enjoy the rest of your time in Michigan and then in Chicago! Safe travels!

Emily and Shareef {I do}

November 30th, 2010

On black Friday most people were getting up early and getting some early Christmas shopping done. I was sleeping in and getting all rested up for Emily and Shareef’s wedding!

Again, I say this a lot, but I honestly have some of the best clients in the world. I have met Emily once or twice before and I’ve never met Shareef but the two of them have the type of personality that makes you feel like you’ve known them forever.  They both were ready and willing (even going outside in the freezing weather).

They got married at the Colony Club in Downtown Detroit and I don’t think I’ve ever been to a more beautiful venue. It’s got this historic elegance and it made the most beautiful backdrop for pictures.

Since I am only putting up one blog for the wedding, bare with me, I had a TON of favorites :) .

I hope you enjoy the preview!

Loving the shoes and dress!

LOVE this sweet picture of the Brides mother.

Finally in the dress.

The bride and her mother :)

Emily, you are gorgeous! LOVE this picture.

A little Park Ave. time.

A favorite of the two of them.

Yep. Colony Club is fabulous.

Woo hoo! Getting introduced!

Cutting the fabulous cake.

The best men and their father sang them a beautiful song – what an awesome moment.

Yep. They totally had a belly dancer walk them in and dance during dinner. VERY cool.

<3 this photo of Shareef and his mom.

LOVE this first dance image!

Gorgeous wedding, Gorgeous venue, Gorgeous couple.

Thank you to Emily and Shareef! I hope these pictures find you smiling and remembering certain moments of your beautiful day. Thank you for allowing myself and Adam to be a part of it. Hope you have a fabulous time on your honeymoon!

Kevin and Leah {Getting Ready}

you’ll think the back is to die for!

Finally getting into the dress!

A favorite. <3

The maid of honor (Leah’s sister) putting on Leah’s very unique and GORG necklace.

I just love this face. It’s almost like she’s realizing, for the first time, that she’s a bride. love it.

So happy!

Kevin and Leah {The Rehearsal}

September 27th, 2010

Almost a year ago I got an email from my pseudo cousin Kevin. He knew that I was trying to get into wedding photography and he wrote that he wanted to hire me for his wedding in the upcoming year.

This was my first solo wedding ever booked. I was BEYOND excited – September 25th could not have come sooner.

As the months, weeks and days passed, I was getting more and more anxious to do the wedding. I didn’t know what to expect or even if I would have enjoyed it. When the time came, I LOVED it. I loved every second of it. This is truly what I was meant to do.

Kevin and Leah asking me to do this was beyond special for me. I was able to participate in every aspect of their wedding. From the rehearsal – to getting ready – to formals and dancing. I was able to be a part of their day. For that, I thank them. It honestly meant more to be then either of them will ever know.

SO, on to the four or five part blog!

Here is part one – The Rehearsal!!

We’re heading to the Chapel!

<3 it.

Everyone practicing their walk.

<3 the faces here

What a gorgeous couple.

Seriously, how beautiful is this girl?

I just love all the joy that was present through-out.

My absolute favorite from that day. <3

They were seriously smiling like this all weekend.

Next up is the getting ready blog!!!
